Contribution Overview
- Craft the game’s UI assets using Procreate and Photoshop
- Program the game’s UI functionality in terms of how it connects and flows using C#
- Design and script in cutscenes using Procreate and C#
- Make sure the UI communicates with the players what the game’s objective is
- Work closely with game designers to ensure the balance of the game
- Collaborate with the designated QA team to get feedback for the game
- Coordinate and planned each sprint to guide the game’s development with Trello

- Gain a better understanding of user experience through the game’s development and playtests
- Practice creating UI elements for the game’s menu system and gameplay

Concept Evolution
- Original Game: A 2D space combat shooter developed on GameMaker Studio
- Current Game: A 3D tower defense game developed on Unity
Design & Development Process
- Production
- Document and help coordinate tasks with the developers
- Record development progress using Trello
- Communicate with teammates regularly to ensure smooth development
- Plan and create concepts of UI that reflect a futuristic theme
- Design
- Create flowcharts to serve as a guide for the UI’s functionality.
- Drew UI and game object assets that reflect the medical theme of the game
- Attempt to create a unique health animation but there was an issue with Unity Animator so the health system would be reflected by numbers.
- Create an in-game instruction panel to explain the gameplay and objective.

- Storyboard the game’s lore to explain why the game is happening
- Drew the story in a comic-like style in Procreate
- Animate cutscenes on iMovie
- Script
- Code in the Menu System and Gameplay HUD through Unity scene management and Canvas
- Implement an Audio Manager and volume control

- Host and coordinate play tests with a QA team

- Have the cutscenes reviewed by people for feedback
Final Deliverables
- A playable vertical slice of the game with core mechanics and UI implementation by the end of the deadline
- Create 50 UI assets for the game using Procreate and Photoshop
- An in-game cutscene that presents the story at the beginning (only for desktop)
- Improve user engagement through targeted gameplay adjustments after 5 playtests
